Rocket Languages review criteria
A great site for learning any language you want, methods are nice everything overall is nice, the only problem i have found is the really high price for it to be bought, not all people may aford that high price..
Well I think that Rocket Languages should be all five stars. Duolingo actually only takes you to around B2 level, while someone can pass GCSE, IGCSE and their O Levels in French by completing Level 3. Level 1 is the A family (A1-2), Level 2 is the B family (B1-2), and Level 3 is the C family (C1-2). Honestly, this must be all five stars.
I really love Rocket Spanish! Learning seems easier with this program than others out there. I just wish there was a little more on conversation with friends. I know and work with many people from Argentina, Cuba and Puerto Rico and would love to just sit and have conversations with them about everyday things and just really be able to become great friends.
The Rocket German interface has been greatly improved over the last two years. I am very happy with the application now. I am currently powering my way through Level 1 so that I can get to Level 2. Almost there!
When I first purchase Rocket German two years ago, I found myself fighting constantly with the voice recognition interface. That is much improved. The practice the dialogs feature is nice. This iteration of the Rocket Languages user interface is very good. I will probably buy the Spanish version when the time comes based on my experience with Rocket German.
My one complaint is that some of the exercises are too long, like the one on countries. But those are few and far between.
Keep up the good work!
I love this program. I am learning so much, although the premium program is a little expensive. But, I'm going to Italy in a few months and I feel very confident and I'm doing very well. I have a couple suggestions: 1) I would like an area or a quick "free" App to write a few of my own sentences or words to practice (instead of bringing a tablet or paper to do this), and this App will write it out in Italian (or visa versa in English); and 2) Do you have an App where I can open it up without Wifi? To open while I'm in Airplane Mode? I have a competitors App on my phone to do this but it is not as good as Rocket Languages). I don't need or expect the whole premium program outside of WiFi, just an a quick App where I can write or search a word in case I need to refresh on the Airplane, or if I forget a word, or I need to read something, etc. outside of the Wifi in Italy.
Need to tell you that the customer services has not been used so therefore I cannot comment, I really like the programme but due to circumstances I havent had too much time to get involved with the programme to make a difference, however this will be changing now and I look forward to working on a daily basis which is what it deserves. thank you .
Rocket languages really gave me the tools to succeed with my new language. It brought me to a level where I was finally comfortable speaking with native speakers and I was able to take off on my own after that. I highly recommend Rocket Languages to all my friends trying to learn a new language. Learning with this system felt practically effortless.
Living in regional Australia, I am unable to undertake formal Russian language studies, but this is the next best thing. It manages to cover all the essential language skills which is something I haven't found in a lot of self-directed courses. Self-directed teaching means my speaking and listening skills need extra attention to ensure I am always progressing.
My favourite feature is being able to compare my own voice to that of a native speaker—it has helped my spoken Russian immensely. As an ESL tutor, another feature I love is "language chunking". It makes forming new sentences easier, and I can speak phrases with a more natural flow.
So far I'm enjoying the course. My only complaint is that I'm not able to test myself on what I'm learning. That is where I find Duolingo superior (and also free, I might add). I find that Rocket is definitely useful but that on its own, it wouldn't be enough. A combination of Rocket, Duolingo and Yabla are what I need and have given me the best results so far.
Response from Rocket Languages
There are Rocket Reinforcement activities at the end of each lesson, Benchmark tests, and Module tests fr when you have completed a group of lessons, that all test you on the concepts and vocab used within the lessons :)
I learn better when I understand the background of my subject. To that end, Rocket Italian explains the rules and irregularities of the Italian language, a nice contrast to programs that teach you only by correcting errors you make while learning, and without any explanation as to why you made the mistake.
In one week of Rocket Italian I've learned some things I didn't know after studying the language for years. That alone makes it well worth the price. I do recommend Rocket Italian.
